A lot of people like Balthier on White Mage because his magic stat is high. I just chose what I thought fit each character the best. I went. Vaan - Shikari/Monk. Balthier - Machinist/Time Mage. Fran - Archer/Red Mage. Basch - Foebreaker/Uhlan. Ashe - Knight/Bushi. Penelo - White/Black Mage.
