Something similar happened to me. I started a run with 5 recruits in Hub, all stats were in 1. I gave all the iron sticks to 1 person, carried 1 person to grind early str, and dismissed the other 3. For longer trips thru more dangerous places garru will do you good, for shorter trips thru places with nothing stronger then hrungry bandits bulls will do good.
